SESCOM has continued to implement rural electrification initiatives in order to contribute to the ongoing efforts of improving access to electricity for rural population in Tanzania.A large number of households and people received electricity through mini-grids powered by Energy Services Platforms (ESPs) which are currently installed in fifteen villages in Arusha, Tanga, Manyara, Shinyanga and Rukwa Regions. the company is in the process of developing other mini-grids connected to solar, rice husk gasification, biogas, etc.
