SESCOM has officially reached the milestone of 150,000 beneficiaries served across more than 10 regions of Tanzania, a significant achievement for a social enterprise that started operations in 2015.
The regions now served include Dar es Salaam, Njombe, Coast, Morogoro, Lindi, Manyara, Dodoma, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, Tanga, and Shinyanga, with ongoing expansion through dealer networks.
Over 50,000 clean cooking appliances have been deployed, 200+ entrepreneurs supported, and an estimated 18,750 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided through the switch from charcoal and kerosene to electric cooking.
"This milestone reflects the trust of our customers, the dedication of our team, and the power of market-based approaches to solving energy challenges," said SESCOM's leadership team. "We are just getting started."
